oki, so i'm not the best blogger, but i want to remind the norwegianreading people that the other one gets oppdated every day.
so, what has hapend here. the first day we went for a tour in the betlehem area. we had a close up meeting with the wall and saw how it went like a snake along the palestinian towns, and with all the fields before the israeli settelments, a settelment is a israeli town inside the palestinian teretories and they make a lot of problems for the palestinians. we also visited a youth senter in aida refugeecamp and heard the stories from the kids who has been traumaticed because og the occupation and how the senter has been under atack from the military.
the next day we mett with a setteler. no one liked him, he said that the settlers were the good people and the palesinians were the terrorists. he had done this before and twisted things we said so that it suited him. but still i am glad that we mett him and got the exreme other view, and met the people that makes the bigest problem for the palestinians.
today is probably the day that that has had the biggest innpact on me. we ent to hebron and went for a tour inside the old city. this area is closed, and only the ones that live there are allowed inside, and of course the internationals that they cant control over. we went inside and saw how all the streets were desserted exept for the military. we tried to go to the old main street but the army stoped us. we walked a other way, but we wee followd by the police and the army who didnt want us there, in the end the policecar blocked the way and said that we had to go out because of security. the real reason is that they didnt want us to see what is going on. one of the big problems for the people living there is the harrsment from the militay and the check points that is making moving around difficult. and for all the inhabitants of hebron that is living underneath a settelment, or that have to pass them, there is a big problem that the settlers are throwing garbage at the people and down in the palestinian streets. it was a impressing tour, and it made me realice exactly how difficult it is to live under the occupation, and what the people is going through.
the days here are long, but we learn a lot, much more than i can write about here, and it is intresting, and fun. love nina
